Historic Kirkwood is Atlanta’s Neighborhood of the Year!
Curbed Atlanta just announced the 2013 Atlanta Neighborhood of the Year — Kirkwood! It’s no surprise that this Intown Atlanta community took the trophy this year, as many new businesses are gravitating to Downtown Kirkwood, dozens of 1920s bungalows are being restored every year, and residents are devoted to making Kirkwood the best that it can be. Curbed Atlanta reported that “Something in the way Kirkwood soundly defeated Poncey-Highland (capturing 75 percent of votes) in the first round of this year’s Curbed Cup tournament signaled that the neighborhood meant business.” And thanks to our fabulous neighborhood spirit, Kirkwood won!
Kirkwood was up against some very popular Atlanta neighborhoods, including Inman Park, Poncey-Highland, Midtown Atlanta and Historic Grant Park. I’m so proud of our little community and know that 2014 is going to bring some exciting new developments and businesses to the Downtown district and Kirkwood home values are going to continue to rise.
