EAV-O-WEEN is coming on October 31, 2014!
The East Atlanta Community Association (EACA) is hosting this year’s EAV-O-WEEN. Halloween in the East Atlanta Village is BIG fun for the kids (and kids at heart!) and will include a costume contest, pumpkin carving contest and also trick-or-treating at all the local businesses. This is something we LOVE doing every year, so be sure to bring your ghouls and goblins to the URBANEST Atlanta office for some special goodies!
SCHEDULE FOR THE 2014 EAV-O-WEEN EVENT
Pumpkin Carving Contest
The EAV-O-WEEN Pumpkin Contest will be announced during the costume contest. If you would like to participate, be sure to carve up those pumpkins BEFORE the festivities begin and drop them off at the EAV Farmer’s Market on Thursday (the day before the event). Your masterpiece will be lighted for the festivities on Friday.
Costume Contest :: 5 to 6 pm
Register for the contest and come to the EAV Farmer’s Market lot on Halloween at 5:00 p.m. and strut your stuff! The costume contest starts promptly at 5:30 p.m when a panel of judges will decide who has the scariest, cutest, and most hilarious ensembles.
Face Painting and Costume Booth :: 5 to 7 pm
The face painting booth will be in the heart of the Village, as well as a bunch of costumes for those in need. ** If you would like to donate a costume, please bring them to the EACA tent during the EAV Farmer’s Market (Oct. 23 and Oct. 30) or drop off at Joes’s Coffee Shop.
Trick-or-Treating :: 6 to 8 pm
The most important event of the night! All the kids can safely trick or treat this year when they visit East Atlanta businesses (including the URBANEST office) between 6 and 8 pm. Please note that some of the businesses may run out of candy in the first 90 minutes, so start early.
S’mores and Stories :: 6:30 to 9 pm
Come by Sang-Bu, the East Atlanta Dragon, for S’mores and Spooky Stories. Stories for younger children will begin at 6:30 p.m., and stories for older kids at 7:30 p.m. S’mores will start at 7:00 p.m. It’s a great way to wrap up EAV-O-WEEN 2014!
